Famous Insadong Yajang

Our outdoor tables (yajang) overlooking the Insadong alley are the seats everyone asks for first — one of the neighborhood's best-loved yajang spots. Come feel the lively, unpretentious buzz of a real Korean bar.

A Night in Insadong

Our yajang — the outdoor tables spilling into the Insadong alley — is what Dalmakdalmak is famous for, and on a fine evening they fill up first. Add sizzling jeon and makgeolli in a ceramic bowl, and you have a night you won't forget.

What is Jeon?

Jeon (전) are Korean savory pancakes — thin, crispy, and filled with ingredients like kimchi, seafood, or potatoes. They're one of Korea's most beloved comfort foods, especially on rainy days.

What is Makgeolli?

Makgeolli (막걸리) is Korea's traditional rice wine — milky, slightly sweet, and naturally fizzy. It's the perfect companion to jeon and a cornerstone of Korean bar culture.

A yajang spot I always stop by when I’m near Anguk Station! In nice weather the alley-side outdoor tables have such a great mood — perfect for a date. There’s a good range of makgeolli to pick from, and the squid sundae is a perfect match for it.

Every single anju was delicious!! The cheese potato jeon tastes like pizza, the squid sundae is packed full, and the tofu kimchi is seasoned just right. They even have private rooms, great for gatherings. Coming back for sure!

Perfect for makgeolli, and there’s parking right next door. The anju are generous and tasty, so you end up eating more than usual. My favorite is the yajang. If you’re looking for makgeolli in Insadong near Anguk Station, this is the place!

Visited Dalmakdalmak with work colleagues ♡ The group seating is well set up, and both the pineapple and strawberry makgeolli were delicious.
